Camp FAQ
-
If a child is disruptive or their behavior affects others, we will issue a warning and discuss with parents. If behavior continues, there will be a follow up with parents and child may be dismissed from camp or class.
No Refunds: Please note that if dismissal occurs, there will be no refunds
-
Every child is different, and readiness isn’t just about age. Art Camp is a group setting with a full day of creative activities, so we recommend that campers are able to:
Separate from caregivers and stay for the full camp day
Use the bathroom independently (with reminders as needed)
Follow simple group instructions and transitions
Participate in group activities and share materials
Communicate basic needs and ask for help
Manage frustration or big feelings with adult support
Enjoy hands-on, sometimes messy, creative play
No prior art experience is required — curiosity and a willingness to try are far more important than finished projects. Camp activities are process-based and encourage exploration, flexibility, and problem-solving.
If your child has specific support needs, sensitivities, or strategies that help them succeed in group settings, we encourage you to reach out before registering so we can determine if our program is the right fit.

When talking with your child about their artwork, we encourage curiosity over interpretation. Rather than guessing what a piece is or focusing on how it looks, try noticing what you see and inviting your child to share as much—or as little—as they’d like.
Statements like “I notice…” or questions such as “Do you want to tell me about it?” help children feel seen without feeling misunderstood or corrected. Art is a personal process, and children benefit when they are trusted to define the meaning of their own work.
Not every piece needs an explanation, and there is no “right” way for artwork to look. By focusing on choices, effort, and exploration, adults can support confidence and a positive relationship with creativity.
